1. Caregiving Support

When childcare plans fall through, emergencies come up, or an elderly family member needs an extra hand when you’re not able to be around, UPMC employees can have peace of mind with a premium membership to Care.com. As part of your membership, UPMC provides five backup care days for children or adults per calendar year, plus unlimited access to Care.com’s database of services for household assistance, pet sitters, and more.

2. Paid Time Off

UPMC’s paid time off (PTO) program allows our employees to earn PTO benefits that provide time off from work to take care of the things that are important to them. Enjoy up to five weeks of paid time off accrued per year for sick, personal, or vacation time, as well as seven paid holidays a year. Plus, earn up to 16 extra PTO hours through our employee blood donation program. Need more or less than that? During select times, eligible staff may also qualify to purchase additional PTO (PTO Buy) or sell excess PTO (PTO Sell).

3. Student Loan Refinancing

UPMC offers several options to help employees find solutions to better manage student loan debt. Employees can obtain a reduced rate or rate deduction when refinancing student or Parent PLUS loans with SoFi, available for both federal and private student loans. Additionally, UPMC partners with Savi, a service that helps borrowers enroll in government repayment and forgiveness programs* that could help lower their monthly payments and potentially eliminate their debt.

6. Tuition Assistance

UPMC provides many family-building benefits and support for your unique parenting journeys. Employees have a $5,000-lifetime maximum for fertility benefits, as well as an additional $2,000 benefit available when services are received at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital.

Another important family benefit is Adoption Assistance, which reimburses eligible staff up to $2,000 for Qualified Adoption Expenses, per adoption, per family. And when the time comes to welcome a new family member, UPMC offers eligible employees up to two weeks of Paid Parental Leave.
